What We Do

Petal 8 is a creative education and production company founded by Cephra Stuart and Taylor Rusch Box. Together, we combine the perspectives of the writer, actor, educator, producer, and performer. Whether we are teaching a screenwriting course, developing a film, coaching a performance, or helping an organization communicate its story, our goal is the same: to create spaces where ideas can take root, authentic voices can bloom, and new perspectives can come to life.The name Petal 8 reflects the lotus, a symbol of love, growth, awakening, and beauty emerging through challenge. It represents our belief that meaningful art does more than entertain. It can deepen relationships, challenge limiting systems, and inspire more imaginative and compassionate ways of living together.

Cephra Stuart

Cephra is an award-winning writer/director whose work has been recognized at several Oscar-qualifying festivals including HollyShorts and the Austin Film Festival. Her storytelling explores themes of identity, ambition, belonging & heartbreak. Her debut feature, San Francisco Bae (now on Roku), earned acclaim for its fresh blend of romance, humor & social commentary. Her latest script, Spirit Lines, is a CineStory Award Winner & Athena Film Lab Finalist. Before becoming a full-time writer, Cephra worked at Disney, advancing representation across the industry. She was also part of the founding team at Mansa, a streaming platform dedicated to amplifying marginalized voices.

Taylor Rusch Box

Taylor is an acclaimed American actor, filmmaker, and award-winning performer whose career spans more than 60 film and television credits. A recipient of 11 Best Actor awards from film festivals around the world, Taylor is known for bringing emotional authenticity, depth, and versatility to every role. Holding a Master of Science in Positive Psychology, he draws on his understanding of human behavior to create nuanced, compelling performances. Taylor's work reflects a passion for character-driven storytelling that entertains, inspires, and invites meaningful connection.
